Prusa

Prusa is the renowned 3D printer brand known for its reliability, a choice that may require a strategic budget allocation.

The Starlex DHB 22.5 is compatible with most Prusa printers, offering a seamless transition for quick nozzle changes and improved flow capacity.

This upgrade is designed to enhance your system by offering an extended melt zone, comparable to the Volcano Nozzle, while preserving the same height and achieving a minimum flow rate of 22.5mm3s.

Connections: Simplest solution would be to add a 4 pins connector (available on the shop) cut the original wires at the extruder side leaving them the longest length, then add a 4 pins screw connector, both heaters together in parallel, and the thermistor on the two other connectors. Or change the whole wires to the board with specific Microfit 3.0 connectors available.

Due to a different resistance value with two MCH heaters, 2x 24/30W, from the 3.12 firmware and above, there is an extra heater control if you use higher wattage. Two options are available, downgrade and use the 3.11 Firmware, or, connect your printer to a PC with Pronterface and enter the G-Code M310 S0, then M500 to save it, otherwise a "Thermal Anomaly" alarm will beep. Download the firmware here: https://help.prusa3d.com/downloads/mk3/firmware and read the informations about this matter in the 3.12.1 firmware under "full release log" before proceeding.

DHB 24 and 33 will need changes in the air flow for the part cooling and Z height adjustment.

MK3S series

For a seamless transition, the adapted height Heat Sink is designed to fit perfectly with the Starlex DHB 22.5 without any modifications needed.

Connectors might need to be customized, there are several alternatives available in the shop

MK4 series

The specific heat sink on the MK4, similar on the XL, makes it possible (soon) to implement the Starlex DHB with light Z height increase.

Minor modifications to the air flow duct will be necessary.

Prusa XL

This is a great tool changer 3D Printer.

Due to the limited space between the chassis and the nozzle, the installation of the Starlex DHB is currently not feasible without major modifications.

Prusa Mini

As a Drop In replacement for this small 3D Printer, the Starlex DHB 22.5 is a good candidate.

We have modified the original heat sink to fit the Starlex DHB 22.5, increasing your melt zone significantly.

Our shop propose a 4 pin connector to adapt your actual wires.

MK3 series

Firmware wise, as there is two 24/30W MCH heaters for the Starlex DHB Eco-system to optimize flow rate and thermal efficiency, the firmware version 3.12 and over will generate an heater temperature alarm "Thermal Anomaly" For third party hot-ends, it can be disabled using Pronterface with G-code M310 S0, and M500 to save it.

The firmware 3.11 works fine without this alarm. Search "Prusa3D firmware" 3.12.1 and read the log.
